INDONESIA; JAKARTA October 13, 2023 - MG Connect 2023, the largest B2B hospitality event in Surabaya, left a memorable mark on the industry, hosting hoteliers from across Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, alongside over 200 travel buyers hailing from East Java. The event took place at the prestigious The Westin Surabaya on October 5, 2023, and brought together key players in the hospitality and travel sectors, achieving remarkable success.
The event kicked off with a workshop and seminar, featuring separate sessions tailored to both travel agents and hoteliers. The travel agents had the privilege of attending a workshop on the topic of "AI: A Threat or a Chance." lead by Mr. Vido Iskandar, Vice Dean from Petra Christian University Surabaya. The hoteliers' seminar, moderated by Brett Henry, MG Group President Director, included two industry leaders as panelists: Mr. Bernard Quek, CEO & Founder of GHS, and Mr. Sugiono Turwibowo, Vice Chairman of IHGMA. This seminar delved into the subject of "The Technology Landscape 2024 & Beyond."
Following the enriching seminars, attendees participated in focused 1:1 meetings between travel buyers and participating hotels. The day concluded with a cocktail and dinner reception, where attendees had the chance to continue discussions, share experiences, and strengthen industry relationships.
